Critterly ("we", "our", or "the app") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when you use Critterly.

Data Stored Locally

All your pet data — including pet profiles, health records, reminders, and documents — is stored locally on your device using SwiftData. We do not have access to this data, and it is not transmitted to any external server or cloud service.

Analytics

We use TelemetryDeck, a privacy-focused analytics service, to understand general app usage patterns. TelemetryDeck collects anonymous, aggregated data that cannot identify individual users. No personal information is collected through analytics.

AI Vet with OpenAI

Critterly offers an optional AI Vet feature powered by OpenAI. To use this feature, you must provide your own OpenAI API key. When you use AI Vet, relevant pet medical context (such as species, breed, age, and health records) is sent to OpenAI's API to generate responses. This data is sent directly from your device to OpenAI. We do not store or have access to your API key or the data sent to OpenAI. Please review OpenAI's privacy policy for information on how they handle data.

AI Vet with Apple Intelligence

Critterly also supports Apple Intelligence for on-device AI processing. When using Apple Intelligence, all processing happens locally on your device. No data is transmitted to external servers.

Subscriptions

Critterly offers subscription plans (monthly, yearly, and lifetime) managed through the App Store and RevenueCat. Payment processing is handled entirely by Apple. RevenueCat manages subscription status using anonymous app user IDs. We do not collect or store any payment information.

Third-Party Data Sharing

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal information with third parties. The only external data transmissions are: anonymous analytics to TelemetryDeck, pet context to OpenAI when you explicitly use the AI Vet feature with your own API key, and subscription management through RevenueCat and the App Store.

Permissions

Critterly may request access to your photo library (to add pet photos) and notifications (for reminders). These permissions are optional and can be managed in your device settings at any time.

Data Security

Since your data is stored locally on your device, it is protected by your device's built-in security features, including encryption and passcode/biometric protection.

Your Controls

You have full control over your data. You can delete any pet data at any time within the app. You can disable notifications in your device settings. Uninstalling the app will remove all locally stored data.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected in the app and on this page with an updated date.
