Acceptance of Terms

By downloading, installing, or using Foliom, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the app.

Description of Service

Foliom is a native Markdown editor for macOS, iPadOS, iOS, and visionOS. It provides a document-based editor with live preview, syntax highlighting, math rendering, and diagram rendering. All editing and rendering happen locally on your device.

User Responsibilities

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your device and any documents stored on it. You are responsible for backing up your own documents — Foliom does not provide a backup service. You agree to use the app in compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

Purchase and Refunds

Foliom is sold as a one-time purchase through the Apple App Store. All purchases are processed through Apple, and Apple's family sharing rules apply where supported. Billing and refund requests are handled according to Apple's terms and policies; please contact Apple Support for refund inquiries.

Intellectual Property

Foliom and all its content, features, and functionality are owned by the developer and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may not reproduce, distribute, modify, reverse engineer, or create derivative works of the app, except as permitted by applicable law. The Markdown documents you create with Foliom remain entirely your own property.

Third-Party Components

Foliom bundles third-party open-source components (including Prism, MathJax, and Mermaid) which are used to render the preview locally. These components are distributed under their respective licenses, which are acknowledged within the app.

Limitation of Liability

Foliom is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the app, including but not limited to loss of documents, loss of data, or interruption of work. You are responsible for keeping backups of your important documents.

Termination

These terms apply for as long as you use the app. You may stop using Foliom at any time by uninstalling it. We reserve the right to discontinue updates or distribution of the app at our discretion.

Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time. Any changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date. Your continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
